2020 has presented us all with challenges and caused us to think differently about our lives. For the WARR HUNT Team it has been one of tremendous learning and appreciation for the relationships we have with one another and our clients.
Reflecting on the year
In early March, when COViD-19 started to impact the health of our nation, we made the decision to move to working from home swiftly and seamlessly. This could not have been done without the significant investment in technology over the years, and importantly the willingness of our team and clients to embrace change.
Over the following 9 months we have had tough days, great days and learnt more about one another and ourselves. During the lockdown we kept connected through the use of…..yes…Zoom…..every morning with our “team hangout”. But it was a few activities that helped us focus on the positives in life, namely, a Stag Building Challenge, Pizza making via Zoom, and a 30 Day Gratitude Challenge.
On Monday 7 December, with great excitement, our team was finally able to return to work in the office, and it has been wonderful to get back to the benefits of being together to collaborate and serve our clients.
We are committed to the health and well-being of our clients, our team and the community. For now, our office is open for the WARR HUNT Team only. We remain closed to normal business and encourage our clients to continue using video conferencing for all meetings, unless it is necessary to hold a face-to-face meeting. This will be reviewed in late January.
While we all hope for a normal 2021, we have been blessed with our clients’ patience and humour during 2020 – without this it would not have been possible to get through the year. Thank you.
Team Update
2020 also saw some significant milestones.
- Bianca Musico was appointed to Senior Advisor and took on a new leadership responsibility as Head of Advice in February.
- Janet Hicks joined our team as Finance Manager, taking over from Marina Warr who is now focused on managing compliance for the firm.
- George Tallis joined our new Accelerated Development Program in May, which will prepare him for a move into the advisory team while completing further studies.
- Zoe Vincent joined our Leadership Team in February and most importantly celebrated 5 years with WARR HUNT in July.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
While 2020 may be a year to forget in many respects, we believe it will be a year to remember for teaching us the importance of relationships and the power of resilience. Last night we got together with the extended WARR HUNT family to celebrate the achievements of the year (photo below).
Like many, most of our team have not had a break for over 9 months, so we have decided to close the office from 5pm Friday 18 December and re-open on Monday 11 January – giving everyone a well-deserved 3 week break.
Our phone and email will be checked throughout the period and if any urgent matter arises you can be assured the appropriate team members will be there to help.
On behalf of the WARR HUNT Team, we wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and/or a joyous break. Happy New Year to all, we look forward to seeing you (hopefully in person, not on Zoom!) in 2021.
