The financial advice process
We use a structured client management process to establish a foundation for success. Our process results in a thorough strategic plan, unique for each client. This documented plan includes step-by-step actions which we implement and manage to ensure what needs to be done, is done, on time and in full.
Financial Planning
Where we provide you with financial planning advice, we will explain the advice and document it in a Statement of Advice which you can take away and read.
The Statement of Advice will explain the basis for our advice, the main risks associated with the advice, the cost to you of implementing the advice, the benefits we receive and any conflicts of interest which may influence the advice.
For administration platforms, managed funds and personal risk insurance products we will provide you with a Product Disclosure Statement. This contains information to help you understand the product being recommended.
At all times you are able to contact us and ask questions about our advice and the products we recommend. You can provide instructions to us in writing, via phone or via email.
We may provide further advice to you to keep your plan up to date for changes in your circumstances, changes in the law and changes in the economy and products.
If we provide further advice it may be documented in a Record of Advice which we retain on file. You can request a copy of the RoA document at any time up to 7 years after the advice is provided.
Credit Assistance
Where we provide you with credit assistance, we will provide you with a Credit Proposal which sets out the fees and charges for our services and the commissions (or referral party payments) that we will receive.
Where we recommend a credit contract, we will prepare a Preliminary Credit Assessment which considers the suitability of the contract for you. The Preliminary Credit Assessment is available to you on request at any time up to 7 years after we provided you with the Credit Proposal.
When we provide you with credit services it will typically be in relation to the credit products of the major banks (ANZ, CBA, NAB, Westpac).
Professional Fees
All fees are payable to WARR HUNT Pty Ltd. The table below details how we prefer to be paid.
Initial consultation
We do not charge a fee for this.
Initial and Annual services
Following Initial Consultation, we will prepare a Letter of Engagement covering proposed services and professional fees. Our fees will be based upon:
- a flat dollar fee; or
- a % of the amount you invest; or
- a combination of the above.
Fees may be paid directly by credit card, direct debit, or collected via an Investment Administration Service (Wrap/Custody Account).
Pre-existing Personal Risk Insurance
In some instances, you may present with an existing product which pays an ongoing commission.
If we recommend that you maintain the existing product, we will contact the product manufacturer to remove the commission. If it is not possible to remove commission, we will fully disclose any commissions received and these will be fully rebated against your agreed annual service fee.
Credit Assistance
If we provide credit assistance a one-off fee may apply. Should we receive any commission payment from a credit provider, we will use the commission as a means of funding the credit assistance fee. If there is any surplus commission, this will be fully rebated against your annual service fee.
Ad hoc advice
In the event of major changes to your circumstances that require more recommendations and strategy development additional fees may apply.
Other Benefits
We may receive education and training support from product providers. Details of any benefits received above $100 will be maintained on a register which is available to you on request.
