My Short Story
If you had asked me a few years ago whether I wanted to become a financial adviser I would have told you I had not even thought about it. Like many people, I found myself in a difficult position after finishing my university degree as I was faced with the huge task of finding myself a career when I really did not know what was right for me.
I really had to take stock of who I was and what was important to me. I managed to identify a few key points.
I consider myself extremely fortunate to come from a family of small business owners and financially minded individuals. Conversations surrounding the business, strategy and investing where common place.
In addition, I have always found myself to be at my best when I am around others. Whether that be in the workplace or in life, having a positive impact and building lasting relationships is what provides me with the most satisfaction. It is in my nature.
I decided to try and find something that combined these key points and financial planning fitted perfectly. But whilst money and investing are very important parts of financial planning it is the opportunity I have to make lasting relationships with clients that really make this what I want to do. Because if I am doing my job well, I might be working with the same client for my entire career.
